Legal Bar Foundation of the Year – Washington, 2026
The DC Bar Foundation invests in justice by serving as a funder and systemic change leader. Guided by a bold vision of equitable justice for all Washington, DC residents, we cultivate a vibrant legal aid network, advance policies that strengthen access to justice, and partner with diverse stakeholders to reshape systems that limit access to legal services. Through strategic grantmaking, training, and collaborative initiatives, we invest in programs that provide high-quality legal aid to communities facing systemic disparities in wealth, knowledge, and power. In 2025, we advanced this transformative work by spearheading the launch of the DC Resource Bridge—a streamlined intake and referral system connecting residents to the legal aid providers best suited to assist them. Since its inception in 1977, the Foundation has made more than $238.6 million in grants.
