Giuliani Ordered to Pay $1.36M in Unpaid Legal Fees

A New York judge has ruled that Rudy Giuliani must pay $1.36 million in unpaid legal fees to the law firm Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP. This amount covers legal services rendered from November 2019 to July 2023, during which the firm defended Giuliani in multiple investigations, including those related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

Giuliani had only paid a fraction of the total amount owed, with just $214,000 paid of the nearly $1.6 million bill. The judge dismissed Giuliani’s claim that he had not received invoices, stating that the law firm had provided sufficient documentation of their work.

This ruling adds to Giuliani’s growing financial and legal troubles, including his disbarment in New York and Washington, as well as ongoing criminal charges in Arizona and Georgia. Additionally, Giuliani is facing a $148 million defamation judgment related to false claims made about election workers in Georgia.

Despite his mounting legal challenges, former President Donald Trump has announced plans to award Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
